Tim Realbuto is an award-winning writer, most known for co-writing the Broadway bound musical Ghostlight alongside Matthew Martin. Ghostlight premiered at the Signature Theatre as part of the New York Musical Theatre Festival in 2011, co-directed by Realbuto. The production starred Tony Award winner Daisy Eagan, Drama Desk winner Rachel York, and Tony nominee Michael Hayden. Mr. Realbuto has also served as co-director for five readings of Ghostlight over the past few years, working with stars such as Carolee Carmello, Robert Cuccioli, Anneliese van der Pol, Rachel Bay Jones, Phillipa Soo, and Jennifer Hope Wills, to name a few. As an actor, Tim appeared on the silver screen as Jackson Pheiffer in The Emperor’s Club opposite Kevin Kline, Emile Hirsch, and Jesse Eisenberg, for Universal Pictures. Other screen work includes “Ed”; “Law and Order: CI”; “The Sopranos”; Sex and the City: The Movie; Fighting; The First Seven Years (opposite Carol Kane); Woody Allen’s Deconstructing Harry; and two seasons on Nickelodeon’s “The Big Help.” He has appeared on the New York stage in Hair; Romeo and Juliet; Finian’s Rainbow; The Winter’s Tale Project (Fringe NYC); Love’s Labours Lost; and in the Off-Broadway premiere of White Widow, a new musical at the Times Square Arts Center. Tim recently completed his first screenplay The Hyde Club, which is currently in pre-production.
Tim just completed the tour of his (not-so-solo) solo show entitled Wunderkind about his life growing up in show business. Wunderkind is based on his popular show Alone (With Plenty of Help), which had a critically acclaimed and sold-out run at 54 Below earlier this year with special guest stars including Tony Award winner Beth Leavel, Derek Klena, Jason Gotay, Jenna Leigh Green, Joy Franz, Natascia Diaz, Laurissa Romain, Kimberly Faye Greenberg, and Drama Desk nominee Christina Bianco.
Tim resides in Brooklyn, New York and also teaches private acting lessons. He obtained his B.F.A. in Acting from Five Towns College.
